Ownership and copyright
BOXXY © 2026 Sam Cornwell. All rights reserved.
BOXXY, its original artwork, characters, presentation and original collection of 50 puzzles belong to Sam Cornwell. BOXXY is not released as an open-source project, and its source code is not offered for public use.
Permitted use
You may play and share BOXXY for personal and other non-commercial use. You may not sell, commercially exploit, republish, redistribute or reuse BOXXY, its code or its original assets without written permission from Sam Cornwell.
Free to play
BOXXY is currently free to play, with no advertising and no charge to the player. Features, availability and these arrangements may change, or BOXXY may be withdrawn, without notice.
Puzzle collections
The original 50 "BOXXY Original" levels are exclusive to BOXXY. Additional puzzle packs may include work by other puzzle authors. BOXXY respects those authors and credits their names on the relevant puzzle pack where applicable.
More puzzles are coming soon.
For players of all ages
BOXXY is a puzzle game for anyone who enjoys Sokoban, brain teasers, memory practice and problem-solving.
BOXXY is not a medical product or treatment and makes no claim to prevent, diagnose, treat or improve dementia or any other medical condition.
Privacy, analytics, accounts and progress
BOXXY accounts are optional. You can continue playing without one and local progress remains stored by your browser on your own device.
If you create an account, BOXXY stores your chosen username, email address, a one-way password hash, account dates, your sign-up and most recent IP address, most recent browser/device user-agent, accumulated active time while signed in, and the game progress/settings needed for cloud saving. This information is stored in Cloudflare D1 and is used to provide the account, synchronise progress, administer BOXXY and prevent abuse. BOXXY does not store your password in readable form.
A strictly necessary secure session cookie is used while you are signed in. BOXXY does not use account email addresses for advertising. They may be used where reasonably necessary for account, security, abuse or support matters. You can delete your account from the account screen; this removes the cloud account and cloud progress but does not erase progress already stored in your browser.
BOXXY uses PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to measure visits and a small set of gameplay events: opening the game, choosing a puzzle pack, starting or restarting a level, completing a level and pressing next level. A completion event may include the puzzle pack, level number, moves, pushes, time taken, whether a guided solve was used and screen orientation.
PostHog is configured in cookieless mode. It does not store BOXXY analytics identifiers in cookies, local storage or session storage and BOXXY does not send account usernames or email addresses to PostHog. URL query strings and fragments are removed before analytics events are sent.
PostHog receives the ordinary technical information needed to deliver and measure a web request, such as browser and device information, page path and referrer. BOXXY asks PostHog to respect supported Do Not Track signals. You can read PostHog's privacy information.
If you use the Contact Us form, or otherwise contact BOXXY by email, the name, BOXXY username if provided, email address and message you provide are used to deal with that communication.
No guarantee
BOXXY.io is provided “as is”. Although care is taken over the game, no promise is made that it will always be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every device or permanently available.
